Zachary’s Jewelers + Fifth Grade Designer Jackson Lears = Fantastic Mother’s Day!

This year is a very special Mothers' Day for ICS fifth grade student Jackson Lears and his mom Jessica. Jackson created a meaningful tribute to his mom as part of the 12th Annual Zachary’s Jewelers Mothers' Day Jewelry Design Contest. He designed a necklace with a pendant in the shape of a gold arrow, featuring a bow with a ruby heart for the tip of the arrow. Jackson  chose this design to symbolize the way his mother spreads her love to people all around, even when she is having a bad day.

On Sunday, May 7, Zachary's held their annual brunch for the 25 fifth grade design finalists and their mothers.  These honorees were selected from over 200 entries from 17 elementary schools across Anne Arundel County. At the brunch, Zachary's announce Jackson and two other students as winners and surprised the three designers by turning sketches fine jewelry for their mothers! All finalists left with a small flower arrangement for their mother, a framed copy of their sketch, and special gemstone and critique from Zachary’s Jewelers.

Congratulations to Jackson and his mom on this special honor.
