Jimmy Little Named Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach

Indian Creek School is pleased to announce that Jimmy Little has been named Head Varsity Boys Basketball coach.

Coach Little comes to Indian Creek from New Era Academy High School in Baltimore, Maryland, where he has spent the past 10 years building the program from conception to a championship team. As Varsity Head Coach at New Era, he played a key role in player recruitment, program development, and mentoring student athletes.

Coach Little also serves as Assistant Director for the Runnin’ Mavericks Basketball Academy in Annapolis, facilitating 220 players of all ages through 22 teams. Through his work at AAU, he has gotten to know many ICS basketball players over the years and has grown to respect the ICS culture and philosophy.

Outside of basketball, Coach Little serves as Chief Executive Officer for JL Business Consulting, LLC, in Baltimore. He embarked on this career after serving for many years as a foundational employee with Under Armour. He holds his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheeling University, and an Associate of Arts degree from Baltimore City Community College.

Little’s appointment culminates a nationwide search which included over 90 applicants. A committee of ICS administrators, teachers, coaches, and alumni was impressed by Little’s reputation as a community-builder who sees his role as head coach as a year-round commitment and takes a whole-player approach when guiding athletes.

ICS Basketball Head of Program Casey Corkin, who served on the hiring committee, is thrilled to have a professional of Coach Little’s caliber leading the team. “The hiring of Coach Little marks a new era in Indian Creek Basketball. We will certainly win basketball games under his leadership, but he will also elevate the culture in ways that fit our school perfectly.”

Coach Little is equally as excited to join the Creek community. “Words can’t express the joy and honor I have in becoming the next Head Boys Basketball Coach at Indian Creek School. The opportunity to help these student athletes is not taken for granted. I look forward to building something special and exciting for the entire school community.”
