Case Closed: Successful Inaugural Mock Trial Season in the Books for ICS

The Indian Creek School Mock Trial team has had a very successful inaugural season. The team's first entry into the annual statewide competition on January 12 was a challenging first effort against a veteran South River High School team.  ICS was led by a prosecution team of Sydney Kornmeyer '23, Madison Yates '23, and Naima Bead '25, with Jacob Stone '24, Maddie Mixter '24, and Violet Vannoy '26 acting as the prosecution witnesses. After a hard-fought battle, South River edged ICS 103-113, earning the acquittal of Ryan Grimes. The second trial was equally historic as it marked ICS first victory, when they soundly defeated Meade High School 110-80. The defense team of Anna Crum '23, Skyla Houde '24, and Hailey Hochard '24 and witnesses Mixter, Alaira Cullen '25, and Vannoy executed a solid case in support of their client, securing a verdict of “not guilty” on both charges. Indian Creek continued its historic season with successful trials against Annapolis-rival, St. Mary’s, North County, and Crofton. Congratulations to the team, including coaches Mr. Andrew Hiller (P '30, '31, & '36) and Mr. Tom Sheppard on a great inaugural season.
