Indian Creek School's Class of 2022 is remarkable!
During the fall of their freshman year, the Class of 2022 literally climbed mountains together on an orienteering class trip to Shenandoah, VA. Little did they know that this would set the tone for their high school years, where they would overcome unprecedented obstacles together, as a class, again and again.
These 62 young adults have modeled Creek spirit, led the way to reestablish favorite ICS traditions, set the tone for a unified school campus, and continued to achieve at extraordinary levels. Examples of this could be seen during the STEM symposium, Upper School Awards Ceremony, and through the School’s first MIAA B-Conference Baseball Championship title, back-to-back IAAM Girls Lax Championship wins, Indian Creek's first appearance at the Navy Marine Corps Stadium in the MIAA Boys LAX Championship game, outstanding indoor musical and theater performances.
Other accomplishments of the Class of 2022 include:
60 of the 62 members of the Class of 2022 will begin college in Fall 2022; One student will complete a gap year in Patagonia and another will play USA Junior Hockey before starting college in 2023.
The Class of 2022 earned over $3 million in merit scholarships.
92% of the class was admitted to their Top Choice college. (Top Choice = listed as “First Choice” or “High Level of Interest” by the student)
The members of this class served over 3,000 hours of community service during their time at ICS
98% of the class took at least one AP Class during their high school years.
The Class of 2022 took 226 AP exams averaging 3.8 per student.
21 Students were Named AP Scholars by their junior year
The Class of 2022 included one Eagle Scout, set new lacrosse record for goals (despite missing an entire season of play), completed 11 STEM thesis projects, won a regional Poetry Out Loud title, won 10 athletics championships, and more!
As senior class speaker Austin Harrison shared with his peers during the graduation ceremony on June 4, "We have endured countless adversities, both personal and global, and we have grown to become the roots of leaders that will be the change this world needs. Congratulations, Class of 2022 - May you always use your talents for good."
