Pat Noel and Pete Corriero Hired as Eagles Soccer and Basketball Heads of Program

The Indian Creek School Athletics Department is pleased to announce that Pat Noel and Pete Corriero have been hired as Heads of Program for the Eagles Soccer and Basketball programs. The Head of Program roles are an important step towards elevating the Eagles Athletics program to provide an excellent experience for student athletes in Indian Creek’s the Pre-K through grade 12 school community.

Heads of Program will work with Director of Athletics Jason Werner and team coaches to oversee all programming for their respective sports. Heads will also serve on the coaching staff within their programs. Heads of Program will collaborate with the coaching staff to lead Varsity, JV, and Middle School Boys and Girls teams, while also providing opportunities for Lower School student athletes to participate through camps, clinics and community events. Focus will be placed on team-building opportunities, camps, and clinics, as well as Leadership and Coaching Development. The School plans to eventually add program Heads for additional sports, based on the numbers of students involved. A Lacrosse Head of Program is expected to be announced for the 2022-23 school year.

Coach Noel will serve as Head of Program for Eagles Soccer, while Coach Corriero will serve as Head of Program for Eagles Basketball. 
 
Patrick Noel, Eagles Soccer Head of Program
Patrick Noel currently serves as the Head Coach for the Eagles Varsity Girls Soccer Team. A person wearing a black shirtDescription automatically generated with medium confidenceCoach Noel has extensive experience with soccer programming through his role as Director of Operations at Maryland United FC. He brings 24 years of coaching experience to this role, having coached the varsity teams at St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, Queen Anne School in Upper Marlboro, and Calverton School in Huntingtown, Maryland, before leading our Varsity Girls last year. Coach Noel has also served as a Staff Coach for the Maryland Olympic Development Program, developing players who went on to represent the US National and Eastern Regional Teams.  His work with Maryland United FC has also included serving as Director of Coaching and Technical Director for the boys and girls teams.

Pat received his B.S. in Political Science from Howard University in Washington, DC, and his J.D. from the District of Columbia School of Law.  He holds an NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma, and a USSF National C License. Throughout his career, Coach Noel has coached over 100 players who have gone on to play at NCAA Division 1 colleges, led six teams to the Maryland State Cup Championships (winning both a boys and a girls state title), coached six players selected to U-14 USA National Team Camp, coached four teams to the US Youth Soccer National Final Fours, and won four IAAM Girls Soccer Championships. A long-time member of the ICS community, Coach Noel is father of two Creekers Zach ’30 and Carson ’32.

Director of Athletics Jason Werner is thrilled that Coach Noel has accepted this position. “Coach Noel has tremendous amount of soccer knowledge and experience developing athletes at all levels. He is a staple in the Indian Creek community and will be a great ambassador for our soccer programs both on and off campus.”

Pete Corriero, Eagles Basketball Head of Program & Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach
A picture containing personDescription automatically generatedPete Corriero has been named Eagles Basketball Head of Program and Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. Coach Corriero currently teaches at Meade High School where he led the Boys Basketball team to a victory in the 2015 Maryland 4A State Championship. He was named Capital Gazette Coach of the Year in both 2015 and 2016, and coached the 2016 Capital Gazette Player of the Year, has won two Anne Arundel County titles, an MIAA B-Conference title, and led Meade back to the state championship game the year after winning the title. He also received the Craig T. White Service/Sportsmanship Award in 2018. Before coaching at Meade, Coach Corriero served on the staffs at Gwynn Park High School, and St. Mary’s High School.

Coach Corriero is thrilled to be joining the Eagles Athletics Program staff. “I am extremely grateful and excited about this opportunity. Indian Creek provides an exceptional academic and athletic experience for all of their students. I look forward to continuing the traditions of the school.”

Mr. Werner is equally excited to have Coach Corriero on the ICS team. “Coach Corriero has a proven track record of not just on-court success but building a basketball program. He has a clear vision for the basketball programs and his values align with the mission of our school.
