Will Mercer Surpasses 150 Goals in Eagles' 19-7 Win over Sts. Peter and Paul

Friday's MIAA Varsity lacrosse game at the Eagles Athletics Complex was notable on two counts: With a 19-7 victory, Indian Creek earned it's first conference win over Saint's St. Peter and Paul and senior Will Mercer scored his 150th goal.

Mercer's milestone goal was his fourth of six in the game. This achievement, counting number of goals scored rather than total points, is especially notable for a high school career since the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted months of play.

The Eagles jumped in the lead early in the game leading 6-3 at the end of the first quarter. They saw a scoring frenzy in quarter two, leading 15-4 at the half, and then played a strong defensive game in the second half, ending the game 17-5.

Mercer's total game tally was 6 goals 2 assists, in a game where the scoring was spread amongst the team. Senior Nick Stroble scored 5 goals 2 assists, junior Benny Carter earned 2 goals 3 assists, and senior Roddy House earned one each.  Sophomore Tyler Stroble tallied 3 goals, and Ben Pikus '22, Will Flint '23 each scored one for the Eagles.  Senior Danny Swope is credited with one assist as well.  Sophomore keeper Ty Spencer recorded the win with 8 saves.

Way to go Eagles!
