Creek LAX Teams Top Key School in One Love Games

Friday, April 1, was a great day for Indian Creek Lacrosse, as both the Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls teams took the field in honor of the One Love Foundation.  Following a day of education about healthy and unhealthy relationships, the Eagles donned special #lovebetter jerseys and hosted Key School for two Friday Night Lights match-ups.  The Creek community showed strong, as game-time bake sales raised over $900 to be donated to One Love on behalf of ICS.  Both teams came to play, as Varsity Girls won 13-3 and Varsity Boys prevailed 23-15.

Friday's game was a special one for the varsity girls, as senior Mia Putzi reached her 100th goal milestone.  Putzi's 5 goals and 4 assists combined with sophomore Sophee Gomberg's 4 goals and 1 assist, junior Molly Bunker's 2 goals, and one goal each from Abby Bunker '24 and Abby Bach '23 to give the Eagles the win.  Sophomore Elia Alewine was stellar in goal, with 13 saves.

The Varsity Boys followed suit, playing under the lights of the Eagles Athletics Complex.  Senior Will Mercer earned 8 goals 2 assists, junior Benny Carter had 7 goals 4 assists, senior Roddy House scored 4 goals 1 assist, senior Nick Stroble had 3 goals 2 assists, sophomore Tyler Stroble earned 1 goal and 1 assist.  Goalie Ty Spencer had 11 saves in Indian Creek's 23-15 win over Key.
