CREEKFEST 2021 Celebrates the Indian Creek School Community
Creekfest 2021 was one for the record books, as the ICS community had a great deal to celebrate! This favorite Creek tradition was back - in full force - after a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ICS students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends came to campus to celebrate being back together, and to mark the realization of Indian Creek's OneCreek goal. This week-long celebration included a spirit week, pep rallies, homecoming games, a fall festival, fireworks, and more!
This celebration for all ICS students began in the morning with a right-sized pep rally for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Our youngest Creekers entered the Gym through a spirit tunnel, played games, danced, and met Euge the school mascot.
The afternoon was full of celebration as students in grades 1-12 gathered on the Eagles Athletics complex to show their Creek spirit! After performances by the Pep Band, Upper School Solo Choir, and Lower School Music students, the ICS student body honored our fall athletics teams. The afternoon culminated with Mr. Connolly's traditional Euge story, spirited chanting, and fun field games run by the Middle and Upper School SGA officers.
This year's Creekfest fall festival had something for everyone, from traditional favorites like the Wallace Cake Walk, to new attractions including an Escape Room and even a mechanical bull. Rides, bounce houses, games set up by ICS clubs, a trading post, treats, and more, kept Creekers of all ages entertained into the night.
Our Eagles athletes gave Creek Nation plenty to cheer for, as our fall teams played hard in this year's homecoming games. From Thursday afternoon's Middle School games, to Friday's senior nights for Field Hockey and Volleyball, to an exciting PK win for JV Boys soccer, Eagles fans were loud and proud. Creek spirit shone through as our Varsity Boys Soccer team, escorted by our third and fourth grade Eagles paraded onto a field behind an ICS banner, running through together as fireworks erupted over the Eagles Athletics Complex.
Thank you to our Creekfest committee, parent volunteers, sponsors, faculty, and staff, for making this year's event the best ever.
