ICS Faculty and Staff Celebrate Extraordinary Year

On Monday, June 7, the Indian Creek School faculty and staff gathered together on the back patio of the Severna Park Taphouse to celebrate the culmination of an extraordinary school year.  Laughter, smiles, and hugs abounded as colleagues enjoyed the opportunity to spend time together - in person - for the first time in quite a while.

Many milestones were celebrated at the traditional ICS End of Year gathering. Head of School Booth Kyle honored departing faculty and staff members Ilana Abraham, Shannon, Craig, Jimmy Monack, Nancy O'Brien, Barb Oglesbee, and Bruce Crossman, who will be moving on to new adventures next year.

Mr. Crossman then presented the traditional longevity awards to mark important years of service:
  • 5 years of service: Stacy Kornmeyer, Lindsey Seynhaeve, Tom Sheppard, Barbara Vasquez
  • 10 years of service (Clyde trophy): Ab Bear
  • 20 years of service (Honorary Brick): Matt McCormick
  • 25 years of service:  Kay Snyder
  • 30 years of service (Plaque in school lobby): Hilary Briles and Laura Zlatos
  • 40 years of service: Bruce Crossman
During an especially poignant moment, Bruce Crossman received a standing ovation and then passed the "Torch of longevity" to Ms. Mindy Probst, who will be the employee who has been at ICS the longest after his retirement with 37 years of service.

The ICS faculty and staff enjoyed this opportunity to celebrate each other along with the culmination of an extraordinary year.
