Track and Field Team Starts Strong in Inaugural Meet

On Sunday, May 2, the ICS Track and Field team competed in their first-ever competition. Creek's inaugural team, (comprised of Stephen Damm '23, Kai Melville '23, Margot Ramsey '23, Kermit Smith, Jacob Stone '24, and Elena Tator '23, and coached by Casey Corkin and Corey Somerville,) travelled to John Carroll High School, where they competed against The Catholic School of Baltimore, Beth Tfiloh, Mercy High School, and St. John’s 

The team's first outing was quite successful, with Kermit placing first overall for the men’s 400 meter and Margot placing first overall from the woman’s 400 meter. Kai put great effort into the mile, finishing with the impressive time of 5:45. Elena, Jacob, and Stephen participated in the sprinting races, and Elena and Margot competed in long jump.
