Seniors Win Creek Cup 2021 with Dance Battle Victory

The Class of 2021 swooped in to steal the Creek Cup Title in a high stakes battle that was fiercely fought right up to the final event. While this year's annual Upper School competition looked different from years past in some ways, the school spirit shown by each of the seventh through twelfth graders remained strong.

The 2021 version of Creek Cup saw a combination of events held in-person and live- streamed to the student body, as well as a few virtual-only events. A school-wide spirit week, as well as the Upper School Food Drive made this year's Creek Cup an event for the entire school. Monday brought a round of Knock-Out, won by the Class of 2024. Ninth grade also took first place in Tuesday's Trivia Challenge and Wednesday's Cornhole tournament. The seniors came together to win Thursday's Minute-to-Win-It Challenges, bringing the freshmen and seniors neck-to-neck leading into Friday's Dance Battle.

Each class submitted one dance battle video for the final competition. The Class of 2026 showed strong, with a spirited performance in the style of the Spice Girls. Eighth grade came in with a surprise showing, with their entry from High School Musical taking second place overall. The ninth grade had strong participation, with a large percentage of the class performing Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." The Sophomore dancers showed off their talent, with a professional looking version of "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'", while the juniors came to play performing a masterpiece from "The Greatest Showman" that melded both on-campus and virtual student dances. But the audience was brought to tears as the Class of 2021 opened their Dance Battle by "passing the graduation cap" to each member of the senior class, before taking a trip down memory lane and showing off their entries from Creek Cups past.

Congratulations to this year's Creek Cup Champions, the Class of 2021.
