Lower School Students Honor the Dreams and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Friday, January 14, Lower School held an assembly to honor the dreams and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Pre-K through sixth grade students read the book "I Promise" by Lebron James. Sixth grader Mide Aderoba recited the 1925 poem "Tableau" by Harlem Renassance poet Countee Cullin, and second grader Aanika Parekh shared a poem she wrote to honor Dr. King. Ms. McDermott's music class shared a special performance of "Peace is Flowing Like a River," before the assembly was concluded and classes participated in follow-up activities to reflect on the themes of equality, action, and peace.
