Indian Creek School to Transition to Yellow Phase of Operation on Tuesday, October 13

During Friday afternoon's Creek Conversation, Head of School Booth Kyle announced that Indian Creek School will transition to phase Yellow on Tuesday, October 13. Through this plan, ICS will offer full-day options for on-campus instruction for all students.

Key elements of the Lower School yellow structure include:
  • The Lower School schedule adjusts to a full-day, in-person model on Monday through Thursday.
  • On Fridays, students may attend the morning on campus. Friday afternoons are off for students to enable teachers to have planning, meeting, and materials preparation time given the reduced opportunities to do so in a hybrid schedule with our increased health/safety protocols. Exceptions: If the week has a previously scheduled day off, Friday classes will be held in person.
  • Students remain in their small class groupings (under 15) from morning drop-off until afternoon pick-up.
  • Families continue to have the option to select 100% virtual learning.

Key elements of the Upper School yellow structure include:
  • Each ‘House’ of students will experience a rotation of two full weeks of in-person, all-day school and one week of 100% virtual instruction.
  • We will continue to follow the same daily schedule and will also continue to follow our Eagle, Green, and Gold week rotation.
  • In yellow, all students are 100% virtual every Friday for the full school day. In a typical five-day week, classes on Fridays are virtual to allow a day of learning without masks for students and teachers. Exceptions: If the week has a previously scheduled day off, Friday classes will be held in person.

Please note: Next week (October 13-16) is a week with a scheduled day off for students. Since school is closed for a Professional Development on Monday, October 12, all students WILL have a full day of on-campus (or virtual, if preferred) learning on Friday, October 16.
