Class of 2027 Demonstrates Kinetic vs. Potential Energy

Ask any member of the ICS Class of 2027 to explain the difference between kinetic vs. potential energy, and you will most likely receive a lesson on the energy of a system with respect to the motion of the body or of the particles in the system. To demonstrate these principles in a way that can be easily understood, sixth grade students each built a marble run to send marbles running through a stack of pennies.  Students enjoyed putting their physics knowledge into practice in this hands-on demonstration!
