ICS Board of Trustees Welcomes New Members

The Indian Creek School Board of Trustees is an enthusiastic and talented group of individuals who are dedicated  to providing stewardship and oversight to the School.  The Board is comprised of past and present parents, alumni, and leaders in the community, who are appointed to serve terms lasting approximately three years. More information about the ICS Board of Trustees can be found on the school website. Over the summer, Indian Creek welcomed four new Trustees to this esteemed group.

Please welcome new members Christina Andrew ’94, Frank Chambers, Derek Krein, and Kerry MacKenzie to the ICS Board of Trustees:  

Christina Andrew ’94 
An Evergreen Campus Alumna, Christina Andrew has been an active participant in ICS alumni events and an avid supporter of the school over the years.  Christina attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and has spent over 16 years of progressive responsibility at PepsiCo.  She currently serves as Senior Manager, C&G Retail Strategy, at Pepsi. Christina also volunteers at the Maryland Food Bank.

Frank Chambers 
Frank Chambers can often be seen on the sidelines of most Eagles Basketball games throughout the winter season.  In addition to being a loyal ICS Athletics fan and a Class of 2022 parent, Frank has helped the  Admission Office as a parent ambassador and has created graphics for the Communications Office.  Outside of ICS, Mr. Chambers has over 20 years of technology systems security, engineering, and risk management experience.  He currently serves as Program Director at ManTech. 

Derek Krein 
Fueled by a passion for education, Derek Krein has spent his career serving independent schools in many capacities: teacher, advisor, coach, admissions, residential life director, college counseling director, high school division head, and now also parent. Derek currently serves as the Dean of Professional and Programmatic Growth and Development at Tabor Academy in Marion, MA. In this role, he advances “What’s next?” for the student experience by leveraging the alignment of strategic initiatives with the cultivation of faculty and the programs they lead. Derek received his M.A. from Dartmouth College and his B.A. from Connecticut College where he double majored in history and psychology, and rowed varsity crew for four years. 

Kerry MacKenzie 
A Class of 2029 parent, Kerry MacKenzie is known for her passion for providing an inspiring and inclusive school experience for all students. Kerry is an active PTO volunteer and has also served as organizer and coach for the Lower School soccer team.  She brings knowledge of the best aspects of many regional independent schools, gained through the experiences of her older children. A graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, Kerry is a caretaker, a writer, and supports her family business.
