Kindergarten Students Create Kissing Stones

The ICS Class of 2033 enjoyed an ICS back-to-school tradition this week, reading the beloved children's book The Kissing Hand, by Audrey Penn.  This story, which is perfect for the start of school, centers around Chester Raccoon, a young creature who is afraid to go to school.  To help ease Chester's fears, Mrs. Raccoon shares a family secret called the Kissing Hand to give him the reassurance of her love any time the world feels a little scary. The Indian Creek Kindergarten students read the story together with their teachers Mrs. Derrick and Ms. deBorja, and then created their own "kissing stones" by stamping heart designs in their favorite colors on special rocks.  Each student's kissing stone was unique. This project was the perfect way to start the Kindergarten year!
