Butterflies! First Grade Lepidopterologists Witness Metamorphosis

Last Friday, the first grade class excitedly gathered in Mirah's Garden on the Tot Lot to watch as their newest friend "Bingo" the butterfly fluttered her wings and flew off into the world. This highly-anticipated event was culmination of the students' metamorphosis studies. Mrs. Harris and her class have raised six caterpillars through their life cycle and watched as they entered the cocoon phase and transformed into butterflies. What a wonderful way to bring the beauty of science to life!
