Seventh and Eighth Grade Team-Building Activities Lay Foundation for Success
This afternoon the Indian Creek School classes of 2024 and 2025 took a break from their first full week of academics to spend some time together focusing on teambuilding and problem-solving.
Seventh and eighth grade team-building activities included collaborative small group physical challenges such as the Helium Stick, the Human Knot, Jolly Rancher Golf Putting, and “Skin the Snake,” as well as icebreaker games such as “Group Juggle” and “Herman’s Head.” “The Wind Blows” brought larger groups of students together for some more active, chaotic fun. While a late morning break for games was quite appreciated by the students, many learned valuable lessons about working together. Insights like “We won’t be able to do this if we’re all talking at once,” and “I have a blindfold on, so I’m really counting on you” were heard throughout the activity.
As Indian Creek philosophy strongly believes, common experiences for students outside the classroom are incredibly important in laying the groundwork for success within the classroom. Director of Teaching and Learning Sarah Allen agrees. “It was fun to see the students pause from the busy hustle and bustle of the school day to spend time taking on challenges, working together, and getting to know each other on a whole new level.”
