Indian Creek Invests in Educational Technology Enhancements

Over the summer, Indian Creek made significant investments in the School's education technology. Led by the ICS IT team and supported by the Administration and Board of Trustees, the school has set a One School standard in terms of flexible, portable technology that will enhance the teaching and learning by not being restricted to a particular space. For the opening of  the 2019-20 school year, all classroom projectors were replaced with mobile, high-resolution flat panel displays. Classrooms that previously had legacy SMART Boards were upgraded to the new third-generation 6000-series boards. New SMART Boards have also been added to the Early Childhood and Upper School Music programs. The Lower School Research Center desktop computers have been replaced with 25 new Microsoft Surface Go’s.  All Upper School classrooms have been outfitted with new, high-resolution Samsung flat-panel displays.   Additionally, all faculty will receive a new laptop this year.

“The kids are so excited about our new tools!,” shares Lower School Research Lab teacher Amy Coleman. “The possibilities that the Surface Go’s have opened up for our program are endless. They have already provided greater flexibility in using our space and allowed students to collaborate on projects in new ways.” Thank you to our technology champions Ben Gehle, Doug McCuiston and Marsha Gardner for their incredible work towards reaching this goal for our school.
