College Board Names 35 Indian Creek Students 2019 AP Scholars

Indian Creek School is proud to announce that 35 students have been named 2019 AP Scholars by the College Board. This is the largest number of AP Scholars in School history!

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program at Indian Creek School is slightly different than programs at other schools. ICS believes that there are many benefits of taking an AP course during high school, and rather than the School directing students towards these courses, ICS believes that every student who is willing to commit to the intellectual rigor should take an AP course. While the School does not limit which students enroll in AP classes, ICS does  require that every student who takes an AP course take the AP exam in the spring. With these guidelines in place, the majority of Creek students challenge themselves with AP courses in order to prepare for college. In fact, every member of the Class of 2019 completed at least one (and some more than 10) AP courses before graduation.

A total of 35 Indian Creek students who took AP exams last spring we recognized as AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honor, AP Scholars with Distinction, and National AP Scholar. Only 18% of students enrolled in AP courses nationwide earned AP scholar recognition.
