Sophomores Eli Fortier and Anthony Thonnard Win Capitol Debate Championship

Champions! Indian Creek rising sophomores Anthony Thonnard and Eli Fortier debated their way through a field of 60 participants to win the final debate during a two-week Capitol Debate seminar at Loyola University this summer. The ICS duo earned their Debate Champion title by examining the pros and cons of the electoral college system versus the popular vote, and effectively arguing their stance through several rounds into the finals. Their success enhanced an already positive Capitol Debate experience, where the boys learned effective public speaking and argumentation techniques, allowing them to further advance their presentation and debate skills to prepare them for the real world.
