Band and Chorus Earn Excellent Ratings at Kings Dominion Festival of Music

It was all work and then a lot of play for the seventh and eighth grade performing arts groups on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, as they travelled to Doswell, Virginia, to compete in the Kings Dominion Festival of Music. The seventh and eighth grade Chorus performed the songs, "Why We Sing," by Greg Gilpin and "Razzle Dazzle" by Kander and Ebb, while the seventh and eighth grade Band performed as well.  Both groups received ratings of "Excellent," along with helpful comments by the judges that will enhance their performances for Spring Arts Night on May 23. After the competition, the student performers enjoyed an evening of fun at  Hanover Sports Park playing games, mini golf, and enjoying the batting cages, before a fun dinner, and pool time at the hotel. The next day, both groups enjoyed a full day at Kings Dominion Amusement Park.  Congratulations to our seventh and eighth grade band and chorus for a successful Festival of Music!
