Zoo Hullabaloo! First through Third Grades Visit the National Zoo

Wednesday, April 24, was a quiet day at the Evergreen Campus, as the Indian Creek first, second, and third grade classes traveled to Washington, DC, to explore the National Zoo. Students relied on their studies of animal life, habitats, biology, and ecology, as background knowledge as they enjoyed visiting the animals who reside at the zoo. Student groups chose their own paths through the park, stopping to enjoy in-depth zookeeper talks along the way. Highlights of the trip included visiting the Giant Pandas, the elephant station, seeing the tiger, and the (aromatic) foxes. While each student had a different favorite part of the day, all students returned from this trip with a renewed desire to help preserve endangered species around the world. Thank you to the folks at the National Zoo for an enjoyable learning adventure!
