Samantha Bennett '24 Wins Pi Day with 210 Digits

Pi day is quite the event at Indian Creek School, and this year was no exception. The traditional digits of pi recitation contest was a team effort this year, as the sixth through eighth grade students competed first in their math classes, and then brought the champions to the big stage to compete for the ICS championship title! This year's competition was judged by the Upper School Mathletes, including senior (and current ICS pi record holder) Adam Bizri, who tried to reenact his record-setting 601 digit glory days. Congratulations to all of our grades 6-8 Pi recitation classroom winners, and our 2019 Champions - 3rd place: Andrew Harris ‘25 (83 digits), 2nd place: Stephen Damm’23 (187 digits), and 1st place: Samantha Bennett ‘24, who recited 210 digits of pi! The proud winners took home delicious Pi day pies, baked by sophomore Annabelle Derrick. Samantha also won a festive pi day t-shirt, and will have her name engraved on the award plaque. Happy pi day!
