Dear Parents of Sophomores and Juniors,

Wednesday, October 16 is the PSAT testing day. The PSAT is the “preliminary” SAT test.  We give the test for three reasons at Indian Creek.  First, it provides the student a feel for the regular SAT test and what it is like be in a serious testing environment.  Second, you, the family, can get a sense of what type of test taker your child is. Although standardized testing is not the only part of the admissions process to college, it is still one of four major components.  Finally, the juniors who take the test are automatically scored for possible scholarship opportunities through the NMSQT.

Please have your child arrive at school by 8:30 a.m. (unless he/she will use extended time.) The test will start promptly at 8:45 a.m.

STUDENTS THAT ARE LATE THAT DAY WILL NOT BEABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TEST.  If your child has approved accommodations through the College Board, they will test in their approved setting.  If you have any questions about accommodations, contact Mattie Dunigan, mdunigan@indiancreekschool.org

Please make sure your child comes to school on Wednesday with the following items:
Three #2 Pencils
A Calculator
A Good night’s sleep

After students have completed the PSAT, the sophomores and juniors will go bowling at Annapolis Bowl. Transportation and lunch will be provided.  Students will arrive back at school at 2:45 p.m. for a 3:00 p.m. dismissal.  There are no after school clubs, but there will be sports practices and/or games.  You may pick your students up at 3:00 p.m. if they do not have an athletic event. Afternoon and Activity Buses will run on a normal schedule.

All students should be in dress code.
