Kamrynn Hobbs '23 Wins ICS Spelling Bee

plural noun: wastrels
1. wasteful or good-for-nothing people
2. waifs; neglected children.

After many rounds, this word ("wastrels") determined eighth grader Kamrynn Hobbs to be the 2019 Indian Creek School Spelling Bee champion! This year's ICS spelling bee, held on Wednesday, January 9, was quite the competition, as three students held strong until the very end.  Classroom champions from each sixth through eighth grade English class competed to determine who will go on to the county bee.  Kamrynn, along with second and third place contestants Samantha Bennett '24 and HaVi Albert '25, respectively, represented their classes proud. Now the Creek community will cheer for Kami as she represents ICS at the Anne Arundel County spelling bee later this month.
