Eagles Baseball players Travis Garnett '21 and Evan Selmer '21 were highlighted in the Maryland Prep Baseball Report as two of the TOP 10 Prospects in Maryland and Delaware. Travis, who serves as a pitcher on the Varsity Baseball team, was ranked second out of all baseball players in Maryland and Delaware. Right-handed Pitcher Evan Selmer was ranked ninth.

Today we give you our initial release of the Maryland/Delaware Class of 2021 rankings. We give you the top 25 prospects we have come across thus far across the state using our boots-to-the-ground approach to scouting. As with every initial release of rankings, the 2021 rankings will see a large amount of increase over the course of time as we will continue to expand and change the rankings throughout.

Taking the No.1 spot in our 2021 rankings is the talented two-way prospect out of Appoquinimink HS in Delaware, Lorenzo Carrier. Carrier possesses dynamic two way ability, already getting up to 90 mph on the mound and has  a high hit tool currently with power potential already. its too early to tell which way he may end up, but right now shows potential to stay as a two way talent down the road. Carrier is currently uncommitted.

At the No. 2 spot is LHP Travis Garnett out of Indian Creek HS. Garnett is a long and lanky projectable pitcher at 6-foot-4 with a quick arm from a low slot. There is plenty of room to add more strength to Garnett's frame and the lefty should end up throwing harder down the road with a high ceiling. Garnett only pitched a handful of times this summer, but one of those outings was at the PBR Future Games where he was up to 86 mph, but you could also see soem of the rust as his command was not quite where it was in the spring, where he helped Indian Creek to the MIAA C championship.

Rounding out the top five are three committed talents from around the Old Line state in RHP Peter Heubeck (Wake Forest), SS Jacob Orr (Maryland), and OF Zack Martin  (Maryland). Heubeck is a talented arm out of Gilman HS with a sound 1-2 combination of fastball and breaking ball. He brings an aggressiveness and tempo to the mound that is hard not to like. Orr was one of the first Maryland 2021's to make a commitment as he made his pledge to Maryland almost a year ago. Orr played a big role in Thomas Johnson's run to the 3A state championship and the smooth shortstop brings nice talent with a higher ceiling down the road that should be able to stay on the left side of the infield. Martin is a sweet swinging left-handed hitter who was one of our top performers this January, jumping on our scene at the Freshman free showcase. Martin has only continued to get better and does possess some two way potential, though we see his future in the outfield and in the middle of a lineup.

Enough talk lets take a sneak peek at the top ten.
