Creek History in the Making! ICS Volleyball Has Strong Showing in First Matches

The Indian Creek Volleyball Club travelled to Garrison Forrest on Wednesday September 20, for the first volleyball match in ICS history! While Garrison Forrest won the match, the Eagles showed that they are a force to be reckoned with, showing strong in the first set. Indian Creek won the second set of the match 25-13 – their first set win! They let the third set slip from a 20-15 lead losing at the end 24-26. And the fourth set they lost 13-25.

The team’s second game was on Thursday, September 21, against St. Timothy’s Barsity squad. This experience helped the girls to continued to gel together as a squad both on and off the court. The match consisted of many good rallies, and the Eagles were able to keep pace in scoring. Coaches Polvino-Bodnar and Roth congratulate strong offensive performances from Sarah Hawes ‘21, Megan Kuhns ‘19, Alexandra Walls ’19, and Gabby Walls ‘18. The level of play from the ICS squad is steadily increasing, as is the skill of level of each individual. Special thanks to Ashley Piper ‘19 and Allison Smith ’20 for taking on score table responsibilities for the past two games.

The team would especially like to thank junior Alexandra Walls for her diligence and enthusiasm in making this dream become a reality for our school. Her efforts to start an ICS Volleyball team have made the School proud. Creek Nation is excited to watch this awesome group of athletes continue to build the inaugural volley ball team for our School!
