Mercer Surpasses 150 Career Points in 17-12 Win Over Pallotti

Indian Creek Senior Attackman Will Mercer reached and surpassed the 150-points mark in the Eagles' 17-12 win over St. Vincent Pallotti Friday. Mercer reached this milestone with a second quarter goal off an assist from Benny Carter '23 - one of Mercer's 9 points in the game.

Mercer's teammates rallied around him to celebrate this achievement, which was especially meaningful as this group of seniors have missed months of play due to the COVID pandemic. Senior Attack Cole Turner congratulated his teammate, sharing, "Obviously it's a huge milestone for [Will], and incredible he was able to get to that milestone with only two full seasons under his belt. He deserves it."

Senior Defenseman Austin Harrison agreed. “Obviously this is a big milestone for anyone to reach. Will plays a very physical and gritty brand of lacrosse that leaves no question of his heart for the game. He has the ability and talent to take over any game. More than that though, he is a great teammate and friend who elevates those around him. He is truly a special player and I am privileged to have been his teammate.”

Mercer's milestone was a highlight of an exciting game for Indian Creek. In addition to Mercer's 8 goals and 1 assist, the Eagles advanced the scoreboard with 3 goals from Turner, 3 goals and 1 assist from senior Nick Stroble, 2 goals from senior Roddy House, 1 goal and 5 assists from Carter, and 1 assist from sophomore Tyler Stroble. The Eagles also shined on defense with 9 saves from sophomore goalie Ty Spencer and 10 saves from Ben Tyburski '24.

The Eagles next take the field Friday, April 1, at home vs. Key School.  Go Eagles!
