Eagles Field Hockey Fights for Win Against Notre Dame

Wednesday night found our Eagles Field Hockey team hosting the Institute of Notre Dame (IND). The Eagles were coming off of a tough loss to The Park School and were looking to return to their winning ways.

At the same time, the athletes of Notre Dame would prove to be up to the task and the first half ended 0-0 despite several Eagles scoring opportunities. IND's Allison O'Brien '21 was solid in the midfield, thwarting several Creek attacks and stepping up as the catalyst for a couple of counter attacks.

In the second half, Gabby Pardo '22 took on the challenge of marking O'Brien and sparked a turn in the game. Multiple Creek chances led to a penalty corner that was well injected by Ellie Sharma '21. The shot was collected by Olivia Maisano '21 and fed to Liz Foster '20 who one-timed it into the goal to put the Eagles ahead 1-0. This was the first goal of Foster's career, showing she has developed the offensive side of her game to compliment her strong defense.

Several minutes later, the Eagles connected again with a passing combination from the hard working forwards of Micah Ferrell-Rogers '23 and Margot Ramsey '23. But it was Pardo who got the final touch to make it 2-0.

Cate Malachowski '23 and Kendyl Underwood '20 anchored the defense to earn the Eagles' second conference shutout. Creek travels to the Friends School of Baltimore on Friday. Go Eagles!
