"Sea Bear" Author Lindsay Moore Skypes with First through Third Grade Students

The Indian Creek first through third grade classes culminated their combined studies on conservation by reading the book Sea Bear: A Journey for Survival, a remarkable and beautifully illustrated picture book that follows a lone polar bear as she makes her way across sea ice in the Arctic. As an exciting part of this lesson, Sea Bear author Lindsay Moore, (who happens to be a former English student of Indian Creek Head of School Rick Branson) skyped with the children to share insight into her creation and development process of the book. Ms. Moore and gave our young authors priceless advice on how to hone their own passions for writing, and answered their questions about becoming an author. She also taught the students about why conservation is important and shared some ideas on how they can make a big difference in their world!
