Sean Lonergan '20 Named 2019 Capital Gazette Outstanding Student Achiever

The Capital Gazette honored their 2019 Outstanding Student Achievers this week. This esteemed list includes Indian Creek juniors Reese Fortier, Justine Krizan, and Sean Lonergan. The Capital honored these students at an awards ceremony in the Pascal Center at Anne Arundel Community College on Wednesday, March 13, and will feature them in an upcoming edition. Congratulations to Reese, Jay, and Sean on this achievement!

Sean Lonergan
Sean Lonergan, Class of 2020, is a student who has high expectations for himself. He takes his academics and his passions seriously and strives for perfection.

Academically, Sean works diligently to maintain his 4.11 GPA while taking AP Chemistry, AP United States History, AP Language and Composition, Spanish V, and Biology. He serves as the President of the Junior Class, is a member of the National Honor Society, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanicá, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and plays JV soccer. Sean is also a member of our STEM program. His project focuses on using a native Maryland plant to remove salt from soil to increase the fertility of the area.

Music is Sean’s passion. He plays numerous instruments, including the piano and drums, and is the leader of the percussion section of the ICS Concert Band. He is the Assistant Musical Director for students in grades 9 through 12, teaching the music to other cast members. He can also be found on the stage where he made his debut last year in Heathers as Ram Sweeny. He has been cast as Joseph Pulitzer in the spring musical Newsies. Sean also serves as a Cappies Critic, reviewing high school productions throughout the Baltimore region.

Sean is admired by his peers and the ICS community for always working hard at everything he does!
