    Outdoor Adventure Camp (Camp is currently full)

    Campers will experience a different adventure each day as we explore the great wide world of nature-based learning! Learn how to scout and plan a campsite, build a shelter, identify poisonous plants, cook outdoors, and more. Join us for a week of exploring, creating and connecting to nature in the 114-acre woods on Indian Creek’s campus. Please note that all campers must be 3.5 by June 1.

    Take advantage of this whimsical week of play-based fun, infused with early math concepts and exciting children’s literature from some of our favorite authors and artists: Picasso, Matisse, Cassatt, Carroll and Calder. We will jump into famous works of art and have a great time learning and playing in these creative environments. From building sand- castles and splashing in little pools on the ICS beach to a tea party with the mad hatter, the friends will be sure to enjoy a week to remember.
     
    Adventures in Cooking: A romp through the culinary arts!
    Rising  Pre-K – Kindergarten $305

    Join us for a week of culinary arts. We will meet a young Julia Child through a book that will inspire the chef in all of us. Campers will make summertime favorites including snow cones and lemonade, and bake tasty treats in a solar oven. There will be home baking projects as we learn to mix and measure and follow a recipe.     Say goodbye to training wheels! Participants in PedalPower
    Kids’ top-rated Learn to Ride programs will learn to ride safely and confidently over the course of the camp week. Participants master balance and gliding first, then easily transition to riding independently, starting/stopping, speed control, turning, steering, riding in groups and around obstacles and hazards. Even the most reluctant riders will be beaming by week’s end, encouraged by our expert instructors and caring staff, specialized equipment and lots of practice through games and fun. Note that our camps are held outside, heat, rain or shine, so please be prepared for summer in Maryland! Please note that lunch is not included.

    Do you enjoy outdoor gales like potato sack races, car wash relay, tug-a-war, pool noodle baseball or maybe a 4-legged race? If so, then come join our Field Day camp! During this camp, all our favorite field day games, as well as a few fun sport games will be played. Other activities such as Jenga, Legos, story-time, drawing, and board games will be incorporated so that children have time to relax between field games.

    A Week at Hogwarts

    Grab your brooms as we take to the skies and spend a week in the Wizarding world. From Quidditch and Gobstones, to stained glass and ghost stories, campers will take part in a wide array of activities that focus on the first three books of J.K. Rowling’s beloved Harry Potter series. With a wide array of crafts, games, and trivia, campers will fill every day with new artwork and stories of their days at Hogwarts Castle.

    Activities will include designing our own snitches, playing modified Quidditch, making wands, creating tissue paper-stained glass, learning to play Gobstones, inventing Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, and much more!

    Explore the Ancients
    Rising 1st  - 3rd  $305

    From Hercules to Caesar, the rich history and mythology of Ancient Greece and Rome will fascinate campers as they travel back in time. From trying Ancient Olympic sports, to creating intricate floor mosaics and learning how to wear a toga, campers will immerse themselves in two of the most prolific empires in history, while returning to the modern world at the end of the day. Campers will be involved in a wide variety of activities so make sure they are dressed for time inside and outside.

    Kitchen Science (Camp is currently full)

    Campers should roll up their sleeves to prepare for an incredible, edible week of science and culinary fun. A different field
    of science will be discussed each day and corresponding experiments will be sure to inspire giggles and grins.
     
    Mythical Quest

    Step into a world of wonder and fantasy as our campers set out on a quest into the fantastical! We will investigate classic forms of story telling from across the world as we set out to create our own books of fairy tales and adventure. Throughout the week, campers will work together to create their own book of stories alongside activities that will bring their characters and ideas to life!
    Time Travelers
    Rising 1st – 3rd  $360

    Let’s travel back in time, into the future, and everywhere in between. Each day, campers will get to experience a different time period, learning about history in the process. They will even get to make their own predictions about the future! Daily activities, games and research will educate and keep explorers moving and still be back in time for dinner!

    Games Galore

    Who’s ready to play some games! Campers will learn and play a variety of both indoor and outdoor games, like Slamwich, Cockroach Poker, Sequence, Cornhole, and Kubb. We will also hold a few epic Nerf battles. ICS will provide a full supply of blasters and foam darts, as well as goggles to ensure safety. Campers will hone both strategy and teamwork skills with our indoor games and have a fun source of exercise with our outdoor games!

    Comic Book Camp
    Rising 4th -  5th $360
    6/27 – 7/1 

    Create your own comic books! Campers will learn about favorite comic characters from Superman to Snoopy and Garfield to Captain Underpants. Campers will become cartoonists, developing their own storyboards and characters and creating a comic book from start to finish! Anatomy, facial expressions, and different cartooning techniques will be covered.

    American Summer
    Rising 4th – 5th  $305

    We will continue to celebrate Independence Day all week long! Campers will make their own American flags, “fireworks,” and of course Smores! Join us for a week full of engaging activities and games including some fun outdoor water activities.

    Mission Impossible

    Campers will be given a mission (if they choose to accept it!) This lofty task will involve reading clues, planning their next moves, and plotting their escape. This week will be filled with intellectual obstacles and physical challenges that will be sure to keep campers engaged and moving.
     
    Los Pasaportes

    Explore the Latin culture without leaving the ICS campus! Enjoy indoor and outdoor cultural celebrations, art projects, science experiments, geography, Latin music, and interactive games. This is not a sit-down Spanish class, but rather fun-filled days and activities to boost your child’s language skills and appreciation for the culture. Together we will fill our passport as we travel and explore traditions of Spanish-speaking countries.

    Art From Around the World

    Campers will take a trip around the world as we learn about different kinds of traditional art from each continent. They will bring home new masterpieces every day and maybe even discover a new hobby. From European weaving to Asian printmaking and South America Mosaics, campers will learn some of the history behind these art forms and see examples of each before creating their own. Campers should be prepared to get messy as we will be using many different supplies including paint and glue.

    Fun on the Run (Camp is currently full)

    This one-week camp will give Middle Schoolers the opportunity to do what they love best: have fun! Campers will depart campus to participate in various activities each day in our area such as Six Flags, Sandy Point, a skating rink, and SkyZone. The week’s final itinerary and special instructions will be emailed the week before camp begins.

    Choose Your Adventure Camp

    Campers will be part of a Dungeons & Dragons inspired camp, where campers will use elements of D&D-style games to “adventure;” be it by solving puzzles and riddles, following maps, or discovering or “battling” creatures or monsters. Inspiration for this camp loosely stems from our favorite stories, including Dungeons and Dragons, Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Harry Potter.

    Great ICS Bake Off  
    Rising 6th – 8th  $385

    Put on your chef’s hats! Let’s head to the kitchen for some cooking and baking. Campers will have the opportunity to improve their skills in the kitchen ,including learning how to plan and follow a recipe, measure ingredients, shop for local produce, and more. We will end the week with various challenges as seen in the “Great British Bake Off.” No prior experience needed. “On your marks... get set... bake!”

    Maryland Outdoor Experience

    Get excited about spending time in the great outdoors! This is your chance to see what makes our state such a great place to live by hiking, paddling and floating around Maryland with your friends, culminating with a morning tubing trip down the Potomac River. You’ll experience everything you might want to do outdoors in a single week with Indian Creek as your guide.

    Counselor in Training (CIT) Program $185/week ($150 the week of June 21 and July 4)

    Indian Creek’s prestigious Counselor in Training (CIT) Program operates throughout the full summer program and offers flexibility to campers to commit for as few as one week or as many as all six weeks. The camper is expected to commit to the full week(s) they have chosen.

    Counselors in Training (CIT) will begin with situational training and role-playing focused on review and enforcement of rules and guidelines. As a CIT progresses in each session, there will be an observation log/journal kept by both the instructor and the counselor-in-training to document different experiences and situations. There will also be an evaluation process completed by both the instructor and the different camp session leaders.

    CITS will be able to test their strengths and hone their skills in a variety of camp-themed sessions and with different ages of campers. Daily group discussions and check-ins will monitor a CIT’s progress and experience. There will be daily sessions with the instructor as well as daily time with campers.

    Basic topics and focus areas include safety awareness, interpersonal skills, dealing with difficult campers, rules and procedures, troubleshooting, taking initiative, general first aid, and transitioning from camper to counselor. All campers will receive a pass or fail grade at the end of their session indicating whether they may or may not advance in the program. Campers who receive a passing grade will get preferential consideration for hiring as a Junior Counselor position once they are of age, as well as 10 service hours per week.

    Please note the week of June 20 and July 4 are 4-day weeks. Lunches are included in camp tuition.

    Campers must bring a helmet. Sunglasses and bike gloves are highly recommended. Families may opt to rent bicycles directly from PedalPower Kids, which are super lightweight and easier to learn on, or may supply their child’s own bicycle, which must be well-maintained, have training wheels removed, and be small enough to allow child to get feet flat on the ground while sitting on the seat.

    Mountain Bike Adventure
    Rising 2nd – 6th $370

    This camp is designed for proficient bike riders who are relatively new to unpaved surfaces and eager to gain mountain biking skills. Campers will learn and practice new skills with instruction and games to reinforce practice. Campers will use the trails around the ICS campus to practice their skills and explore the woods. Open to campers ages 8-12, who are comfortable riding in groups/on paths and trails for at least 1-2 hours. 
     
    Required equipment: Campers MUST have a mountain bike in good working condition with knobby tires, hand brakes and gears. Helmet, hydration pack, water, sunglasses, cycling gloves, and insect repellent required. Bikes can be stored at camp for the week.

    Co-Ed Basketball Camp 
    Rising 1st  - 9th  $270

    Indian Creek Summer Basketball Camp is designed for players looking to develop and strengthen their individual and team skills. Each day campers will develop/strengthen their fundamentals
    of basketball by participating in team/individual skill sessions, receiving instructions from knowledgeable coaches, lectures from speakers and competitive individual/team games. The Coaches’ goal is to provide these services but also provide each camper with an enjoyable experience.

    Boys Lacrosse Camp

    The Indian Creek Lacrosse Camp is back as a staple in the world
    of Annapolis area youth lacrosse! This camp will offer top-tier instruction to beginner and intermediate players ranging from grades 1-8. Each day will begin with fundamental drills in the morning designed to lead into fun, developmental games in the afternoon. The goal of the camp is to develop each player’s skills and lacrosse IQ, while focusing on the values of sportsmanship, comradery, and fostering a love for the game.

    Tennis Camp  (Camp is currently full)

    The camp includes fun activities, foundational instruction, singles /doubles match play, and competition style games. Campers will learn the basic rules and etiquette of the sport while participating in teamwork and healthy competition. We look forward to seeing you on the court!

    Old School Recess

    This is the perfect camp for Middle Schoolers who are always on the move! Come experience the magic of team sports. Campers will spend time indoors and out, learning to work together as a team and creating a strategy for success. Campers will work on increasing their fitness as they are exposed to a variety of classic games such as kickball, matball, capture the flag, dodgeball, hungry hippos, and more. Campers will learn rules of play and put their strategies into action all while having a ton of fun.


  • Performing Arts

    Rising Stars

    Our Rising Stars camp is proud to present Willy Wonka
    KIDS during this two-week acting opportunity for campers entering grades one through nine. Campers will have the opportunity to work on singing, dancing, and drama. Each day campers will work on theater skills and practice for a Broadway revue. Each age group will work on its own portion of the production and will be a part of the creative process. Each camper will have at least one solo singing or speaking line and will be included in all full cast production numbers.

    If you are looking to extend the fun of our Junior Engineers camp, or would prefer an option that allows you to set when and where the adventures occur, then consider our BLinc extension week. Here, you and your family will have access to new activities and projects through the user-friendly program, SeeSaw. Each day new activities will open with options that offer 1- 3 hours of exploration and discovery around our Junior Engineer- ing theme. Additionally, our camp week instructor will coordinate a 30-minute ZOOM meeting where the kids can share their projects and what they have been building.

    Minecraft Fables

    Extension week for those enrolled in the June 21-24 camp July 25-29 (virtual)

    If you are looking to extend the fun of our Minecraft Fables camp with an option that allows you to set when and where the adventures continue, then consider our BLinc extension week. Here, you and your family will have access to new activities and projects through the user-friendly program, SeeSaw. Each day, new activities will open with options that offer 1-3 hours of exploration and discovery around the Minecraft theme. Additionally, students will have two, 30-minute instructor guided ZOOM meetings. This will allow them the opportunity to share their projects, hang-out with their friends, or just ask the instructor if he has ever seen an axolotl in a cave biome.
    Studio Art – Ceramics

    2-week course with 4 in-person, 1⁄2-day studio hours

    Welcome to our Studio Art class, sculpting edition, where students are introduced to the fundamentals of working with clay. This summer course will allow students to explore the history, significance, and techniques behind sculpting as well as apply their newly gained knowledge during our supervised art studio hours.

    By utilizing a self-paced instructional model, we can maximize the time our budding artists spend sculpting during the in-person studio sessions. Twice each week, students will meet on campus at our ICS art studio to build, stain, and fire their creations. Our artists will receive guided instruction throughout the entire process, from designing their idea to finalizing their hand-made product, in both the online and in-person portions of the course. Studio Art, sculpting edition is designed to provide a well-rounded introduction to sculpting and everyone will create at least one finished, personalized piece of art to take home.
     
    Forensic Investigation 
    Rising 7th – 9th $375
    In-Person on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am - 12pm

    2-week course with 4 in-person, 1⁄2-day studio sessions.

    Are you fascinated by whodunits? If so, our Forensic Investigations BLinc could put you on the path to solving all kinds of mysteries. This BLinc summer course will allow individuals to explore the history, significance, and techniques at the core of forensic
    science as well as spending time together analyzing our results in the ‘forensics lab’.

    Students will cover topics from fingerprinting to gel electrophoresis, online. Each day, new information, skills checks, and interactive activities will be released for students to explore. 30-minute virtual meetings will be on Monday evenings to introduce the concepts. On Wednesdays and Thursdays we will meet in-person on campus at the ICS forensic lab to experiment, test, and solve crimes! So come and join us as we delve into this fascinating sector of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

    Writing Your College Admission Essay 
    Rising 11th  - 12th  $400 
    BLinc 4 week virtual course from 7/5 - 7/29

    Writing about yourself can be challenging, especially when
    it is the only opportunity for an admissions officer to get to know the real you. This course helps students compose their college admission essay and provides them with a springboard to get ahead of the very busy (and sometimes stressful) college application process. Each week you will cultivate the tools necessary to develop and finish an essay ready to wow any college.

    Participants will begin the course with an online, early-evening meeting held on Tuesday, July 5. During week three of the
    course, each student will schedule a skype-based one-on-one review of their essay with the course’s instructor and a member of the ICS Upper School Humanities faculty.
