    Personal Finances: Stock Up ($375)

    Our hybrid personal finance course is designed to equip high school students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage their personal finances effectively. The course will cover a wide range of topics including budgeting, saving, and investing, with a particular emphasis on the stock market. Instruction will be provided both in-person and online, providing students with the flexibility to fit this important topic into their busy schedules.     The course content will be delivered via the ICS learning management system, CREEKnet, incorporating interactive and asynchronous materials with personalized instruction. Each week, there will be a live, 30-minute session held on Monday and Thursday evenings. The instructor will coordinate the exact times and whether these sessions will be held online or in-person, in consultation with the enrolled students.
  • June 26-30: Session 2

    ¡Vamos a viajar! Exploring the Spanish-Speaking World ($375)
    2-week BLinc course (runs June 26 – July 7)
    Rising 6th - 8th graders

    Embark on an exciting cultural journey through the Spanish-speaking world! This hybrid course will use interactive materials to explore the geography and customs of different Spanish-speaking countries. Visit vibrant cities like Mexico City, Santiago, and Barcelona and discover their unique traditions. As you build your Spanish language skills, you'll also explore the essential question of why we travel.

    The course content will be delivered through the ICS learning management system, CREEKnet, with interactive, asynchronous materials and personalized instruction. You and your peers will have in-person sessions on the ICS campus (Tuesday afternoons from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm) to share your discoveries and practice commonly used travel phrases. Plus, there's an optional virtual lesson held on Thursday evenings with the exact time to be determined later based on the overall availability of the group.
     
    Writing Your College Admission Essay ($450)
    3-week BLinc course (runs June 26 – July 14)
    Rising 11th - 12th graders

    Writing about yourself can be challenging, especially when it is the only opportunity for an admissions officer to get to know the real you. This course helps students compose their college admission essay and provides them with a springboard to get ahead of the very busy (and sometimes stressful) college application process. Each week you will cultivate the tools necessary to develop and finish an essay ready to wow any college.
     
    Participants will begin the course with an online, early-evening meeting held on Tuesday, June 27. During weeks two and three of the course, each student will schedule a Teams or Zoom-based one-on-one review of their essay with the course’s instructor.

    Mythical Adventures: Exploring the World of Norse Mythology ($375)
    2-week BLinc course (runs July 10 – July 21)
    Rising 7th - 9th graders

    Uncover the ancient myths and legends of the Vikings in our interactive hybrid class. Explore the world of Norse mythology and discover the stories that shaped Viking culture. Through online lessons and in-person activities, students will gain a deeper understanding of this fascinating period in history. Sign up now for an epic journey through the myths of the North!

    The course content will be delivered through the ICS learning management system, CREEKnet, with interactive, asynchronous materials. An in-person session will be held on the ICS campus during Tuesday afternoons (7/11 and 7/18) from 2:00pm-3:00pm to share your discoveries and dive deeper into the legends. Optional, online meetings may also be scheduled as the instructor and those enrolled see fit.

    Conversational Spanish: Master the Art of Communication
    2-week BLinc course (runs July 24 – Aug 4)

Designed to help students prepare for the upcoming academic year, this class will focus on building confidence and fluency through interactive lessons, real-life situations, and practical exercises. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate learner, our experienced teacher will guide you every step of the way.     During the first week, students are invited to in-person sessions on the ICS campus.  These are tentatively planned for Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.  The following week, two virtual meetings will be coordinated at a time that best meets the group members’ needs and schedules.
