Application Process

Thank you for your interest in Indian Creek School! Indian Creek welcomes qualified applicants with a variety of talents, interests, and perspectives, without regard to race, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin, or sexual orientation. We seek students who are motivated and enthusiastic about learning, and who will contribute to and benefit from the many opportunities both in and out of the classroom at our school.

Pre-K3 - 1st Grade

The Early Childhood admission process at ICS is designed to be as enjoyable and stress-free as possible for our youngest children. The goal of our admission committee is to make sure that a student is developmentally ready for our rich curriculum and the structure of a school day.

  • Guidelines

    Our Pre-Kindergarten 3 program offers both three and five day a week options. Our Pre-Kindergarten 4 and Kindergarten programs are five full days. Children must be potty trained.

    Age Requirements:

    • Pre-Kindergarten 3: Students must turn three by September 1, 2017 or December 1, 2017. We may accept a limited number of two- year-old students who turn three years old by December 1, 2017. (Students with a birth date after September 1 will need to spend two years in either Pre-Kindergarten 3 or Pre-Kindergarten 4)
    • Pre-Kindergarten 4: Students must turn four by September 1, 2017
    • Kindergarten: Students must turn five by September 1, 2017

    As children often need to be comfortable in a new setting in order to interact with adults they do not know, other steps, such as shadow visits or additional evaluations, may be required at the request of the Admission Committee.
  • Apply

    Submit a completed Admission Application, along with a $50 application fee. After the January 16, 2019 AIMS Admission application deadline has passed, Indian Creek School will operate on a rolling admission basis as spaces are available in each grade. Families should apply through the Admission Office, to learn the status of the grade(s) of interest for your family.
  • Admission Screening

    Click the links below to reserve placement for our February testing session. There is a non-refundable $50 testing fee. 

    Admission Screening sessions for applicants to Pre-K4 through Grade 1 will be held on Saturday, February 1, from 9:00-10:15 a.m. and from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Register Now

    Admission Screening for applicants to Pre-K3 will be held after our Tuesday Discovery Days on February 11, March 10, April 7, and May 12 from 9:00 -  11:00 a.m.

  • Teacher Recommendation

    If the student is currently enrolled in another school or daycare program, we also request a Teacher Recommendation Form to be completed by the current teacher or daycare provider.
  • Transcript Request

    If the student is currently enrolled in another school or daycare program, we also request that transcripts containing curriculum information and student progress be provided by the current school or center. Please complete and sign this Transcript Request Form and turn it in to the current school.
  • Visit

    As children often need to be comfortable in a new setting in order to interact with adults they do not know, additional visits, such as shadow visits or Discovery Day participation, may be required at the request of the Admission Committee.

Grades 2-6

The Lower School admission committee seeks to enroll students who are motivated and enthusiastic about learning, and who will contribute to and benefit from the stimulating academic environment offered at our School. Sixth grade is a main point of entry at Indian Creek, as students have the opportunity to become Evergreen Campus leaders before moving on to the Upper School in seventh grade.

    Submit a completed Admission Application, along with a $50 application fee.   • Admission Testing

    Grades 2-4:
    Applicants to grades 2-4 will complete an in-house assessment, which may include a DRA (diagnostic reading assessment, writing prompt, and/or math assessment).

    Grades 5 &6:

    Applicants to grades 5-6 are required to submit their Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) or their Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) scores from the current year. Scores must be submitted directly through the test service.

    Indian Creek is an official SSAT test site with monthly testing dates available. Please visit the SSAT website to create an account and register for this test. Indian Creek's SSAT School Code is 4076. It is best to arrange to test in either November, December, or January in order to meet the January 15, 2020 application deadline. Students who test after January will be considered for rolling admission.

    If for some reason you cannot take the SSAT, we will accept ISEE scores. Students may register for the ISEE through this link.

    In addition to the SSAT or ISEE test scores, all sixth grade applicants must submit an SSAT Character Skills Snapshot. This snapshot provides the Indian Creek admission committee with a richer holistic view of your student. It measures your student's view of his/her character skill development and is meant to complement more traditional cognitive assessments.   • Teacher Recommendation Form

    Please sign and submit the applicable confidential Teacher Recommendation Form to a current teacher.

  • Transcript Request

    Official school transcripts containing curriculum information and student progress must be provided by the current school. Please complete and sign this Transcript Request Form and turn it in to the current school.
  • Visit

    Shadow days are not required through the admission process for grades 2-6. However, a student may tour Indian Creek’s Lower School at any time. Students are invited to shadow in Lower School after they have submitted an application. *Other steps, such as additional shadow visits or additional evaluations, may be required at the request of the Admission Committee.

Grades 7-12

The Upper School Admission committee seeks to enroll students who are motivated and enthusiastic about  learning, and who will contribute to and benefit from the stimulating environment offered at our school. Seventh and ninth grades are the main entry point for the Upper School, but transfer applicants are welcome to apply and will be considered as space allows. 

Students applying to ninth and tenth grades who are interested in applying to the Upper School STEM program should also complete a STEM application. Information about the STEM application process can be found here. 2020-21 STEM applications are due on Monday, December 16, 2019.

  • Teacher Recommendations

    Submit signed English Teacher Recommendation and Math Teacher Recommendation forms to your student’s current English and Math teachers for them to complete and forward to Indian Creek Upper School Admission Office.
  • Transcript Request

    Submit a signed Transcript Release Form to the guidance counselor or principal at your current school requesting that they forward transcripts and standardized testing reports to Indian Creek School Admission Office.
  • Visit
