The Math: Problem Solving Skills and Strategies course is designed to ease the transition between grades over the summer by helping your student to feel confident and prepared to hit the ground running in the fall.
During this two-week course, students will explore math concepts ranging from money to measurements to making graphs! Led by ICS teacher Laurie Balderston, the class will hold virtual meetings for both whole class and small group instruction. This course is designed for rising second and third grade students of ALL math abilities, with plenty of opportunities for differentiation. Avoid the dreaded “summer slump” - and have fun with us sharpening your math skills. Join us this summer!
To accommodate summer schedules, this course will run twice. The two timeframes also allow our families to pair the Math: Problem Solving Skills & Strategies course with our Reading Skills & Strategies course; thereby, providing a well-rounded primer for the coming fall term.
