The PTO offers a wide variety of activities and events, and their success is dependent upon the many parent volunteers who make time for Indian Creek every year. If you would like to lend your time and talents, please visit the Volunteer page to sign up.
The Parent Education Committee strives to empower Indian Creek parents to advocate healthy living and good decision making for their children by augmenting parenting knowledge across all grades by:
- addressing current issues which impact student safety, health, development and well-being as age appropriate
- supporting Indian Creek’s education and outreach programs with respect to the progress and benefits of brain research and curriculum design
We also aim to create opportunities for parents to draw support from one another and to gain insights both from our programs and through their interactions with others within the Indian Creek community.

Save the Date: Parent Education Saturday Symposium
Saturday, November 5, 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
The PTO Parent Education Committee cordially invites you to a day of parent education workshops on Saturday, November 5, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Both our own Indian Creek experts and outside guest speakers will present on topics including brain development, social media, the power of parent to prevent substance abuse, and others. This is an all school event, with some topics begin split to provide age appropriate conversations. Look for more information to follow.
Lower and Middle School PTO Meeting
Please join us for a the next Lower and Middle School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Meeting on Wednesday, November 9, from 8:15 - 9:15 a.m. in the Evergreen Campus Cafeteria. *Coffee will be served. All are welcome!
Upper School PTO Meeting
The next Upper School PTO Meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 8, from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Crownsville Campus Advancement Conference Room.
2016 Creek Connections and Cocktails: All Parent Social
Thursday, September 1, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
We come together as a community to start each year to make new or reestablish old connections. This relaxed, enjoyable evening of music, food, and conversation is headlined by our Head of School, Dr. Rick Branson, who shares his vision for the upcoming year in brief remarks.

Used Uniform Sales
The Used Uniform Sales are held three times during the year, offering parents a place to donate uniforms that their children have outgrown, giving parents an opportunity to purchase inexpensive uniform items, and raising money for PTO programs. There are three sales each year: during the Welcome Coffee on the first day of school, CREEKfest, and the Lower School Valentine Parties.
There is a bin at both the upper and lower school where uniforms can be donated at any time.
School Fundraising Events
Three major fundraising events are important traditions during the school year that provide an opportunity for members of the Indian Creek community to get involved and have some fun, as well. The success of these events is relies heavily on parent volunteers.
It’s “the most fun anyone can have” on a Saturday in October! This annual event is an outdoor festival of food, games, prizes, face painting, and more. Over 250 volunteers are needed to help plan the event, set up games, recruit volunteers, or clean up for the annual fall festival. Volunteers are also needed to distribute t-shirt and ticket orders, man the games, serve food and more.
Indian Creek’s biggest fundraiser is a biannual event. The Spring Auction is an evening of socializing, bidding, gaming, dining, and dancing. Volunteers are needed to help with all aspects of the event: assist with planning, decorating, live auction, program book, invitations, entertainment, and more.
This race is the longest standing community event at Indian Creek. All members of the community gather at the school for a day of exercise and family fun on a Sunday in April. Help organize the event, coordinate the race route, order t-shirts, set up and monitor the course, coordinate registration for the race, and clean up afterwards.
