Early Childhood

Admission Procedures

All applicants must*:

  1. Submit a completed Admission Application, along with a $50 application fee.

  2. Participate in an Admission Testing Session, which requires a $50 testing fee. For students applying for Pre-K and Kindergarten, we administer a developmental readiness test, geared towards three-, four-, and five-year-olds. During a screening session, children are brought to one of the early childhood classrooms for a period of observed play with other children. After a student is comfortable, a teacher or administrator will work with the child one-on-one to administer play-based screening. This screening will assess a child’s language skills, numeric comprehension, fine and gross motor functions, and other skills to determine school readiness.

2016-17: By appointment as space remains.

For 2017-18: For students applying to Pre-Kindergarten 4 and Kindergarten, admission screening will be offered on Saturday, February 11, 2017 during two sessions: 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.

For students applying to Pre-Kindergarten 3, admission screening will be available by appointment.

If the student is currently enrolled in another school or daycare program, we also request a Teacher Recommendation Form to be completed by the current teacher or daycare provider, and transcripts from the current school or center.

*Other steps, such as shadow visits or additional evaluations, may be required at the request of the Admission Committee.
