Philosophy & Mission
Indian Creek School (ICS) accepts each student as a unique and valuable individual who has the potential to be a contributing member of the global community. We believe an effective school environment is safe, nurturing, and challenging with established standards that acknowledge the importance of students’ developmental levels.
Students can develop the confidence, creativity, and the intellectual skills to succeed throughout their educational careers and in life.
Students can develop the social skills necessary for building positive and rewarding relationships in a global community.
Students can mature into emotionally healthy individuals who demonstrate integrity and a sense of self-worth as well as concern and respect for others.
Students can develop the confidence to engage in healthful lifetime activity through participation in physical activities across all developmental levels throughout the program.
We believe in clear and open communications between school and family. We value families’ insights and the goals they have for their children. We believe we must work in partnership with the families of our students so that the various facets of the student’s world are in balance.
We live in a dynamic and global community where achievement comes not only from knowing, but knowing how to know.
To be successful in this rapidly changing world, students increasingly need an education that challenges the conventions of the traditional approaches to teaching. Students need a school where they discover themselves as learners and benefit from working with students who learn in diverse ways. Families seek an innovative school that focuses on each individual learner within a collaborative community that is nurturing, engaging, and challenging.
Indian Creek will be that school.
Indian Creek School provides an academically challenging, college preparatory education in a collaborative, nurturing community for students with a wide range of talents, backgrounds and abilities. Students develop self-worth, the confidence to take intellectual risks, an appreciation of diversity of all kinds, and the ability to work cooperatively. Students become independent, self-aware learners ready for global citizenship.
Indian Creek School is committed to building diversity as a core value of our community and fostering an inclusive environment in which all members of the school community are understood, valued, respected, and affirmed.
Indian Creek School values, celebrates, and respects diversity in race, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic means, abilities, affinities, and learning strengths. We strive to create a safe environment without judgment, where students can recognize their self-worth, and appreciate all others as contributing members of the global community.
